Monólito

2012

The Monólito project is unique due to its media: a film and a large sculpture.
The sculpture contains three openings; one of them being a small whole at the top that allows for the entrance of zenithal light, the other a side window, next to which there is a parapet and a bed at the opposite side, and the third a narrow passage, that allows for the entrance of a person. The interior of this sculpture is mirrored, reflecting dozens of images from all angles.
The video, on the other hand, (Monólito, black and white, 56 ‘10’ ‘), displays the crossing of a lonely young man through a wild natural landscape, and his arrival at an enigmatic object at the end of his journey. This grey geometric solid form of great dimension being the sculpture Monólito, that represents the meeting point between a geode and a cave.
