Cápsula

2016

Cápsula project was developed in the context of the Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa artist-in-residence program. Faced with the proposal to work with the building of the Pombal Palace itself, where the program was running, the project revolved around the historical elements within the palace.

As access to the natural landscape was not available, the project was entirely based on the nature represented within the palace tiles.

Such tiles were studied with aims of understanding the craftsman making them, taking one back to the ceramic encapsulation of the landscapes represented. This access to the past was then expanded in the watercolours and colour pattern was established as a linking instrument between their execution and the present.
