The video installation records the field of vision of a man advancing through snow in search of a river’s source. In his hands, vedor rods oscillate in response to the presence of underground water, determining his course independently of his own volition. The work thus engages with a long-standing human tradition: the belief in, and reliance upon, forces that remain beyond complete scientific explanation.
