Laurissilva

The body of work presented by Pedro Vaz in the exhibition Laurissilva at Gallery 111, Lisbon, refers both to a geography and to a specific artistic research: the Laurissilva forest in Madeira Island and the artist’s physical presence in that secluded place. The footage he takes (images and sounds) become ancillary to the requirement that dictates the journey – being on site.
