2015

The work Lugar takes the form of loan from nature.

It was a performative act of transporting a stone from the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park to the gallery, and its return to the original location after the end of the exhibition. Human action in the Protected area of the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park is prohibited. This ban is a self-imposed withdrawal of confidence from mankind. This work is part of a wider field of research in which the concepts of space and place are involved. Removing an element out of its context makes its original place, even more referenced, and more efficiently evoked.
